Buying Shares (Individuals/Joint)
Current financial regulations require that investors provide certain information (and documentation) prior to the purchase of shares, thus enabling the advisor to set up an account. We will then be in able to discuss your interest.
Creating an account is a straight-forward process. The minimum information/documentation required is:
- Full Name (including all first names as well as surname)
- Full Postal Address
- IRD number
- Date of Birth
- Bank A/c number
- Contact phone numbers
- A Certified copy of photo ID (preferably valid passport, otherwise valid driver’s license AND both sides of a credit card)
- A copy of a ‘proof of bank account’ document (e.g. a bank statement, or a teller-verified account chit from your local bank branch).
- A copy of ‘proof of residential address’ (e.g. rates or power bill. It must be no older than 90 days).
Certification can be by a solicitor, a bank employee, a Justice of the Peace, or an Ellis Bros employee.
If you are wanting to set up a joint account, we would need the full names, photo ID, IRD numbers, and ‘proof of residential address’ documents for both intending investors.
In the case where you have previously been allocated a CSN (Common Shareholder Number), we would need that too.
Standard brokerage is 1% of the dollar value of any transactions (the minimum charge for NZX trades is, effectively, $65.50 … for ASX trades, $A80).
When your account has been opened, we will be in contact to discuss your investment intentions.
Meantime, please complete the following form, attach the relevant documents, and forward to us here at Ellis Bros.
